Students from area schools circled Crow Park for Trunk or Treat

Children from area schools dressed as ghosts, goblins and Spiderman walked around Crow Park collecting candy and treats from several tribal departments and community members during the Oct. 31 T runk or T reat.

The Tribe held the first Trunk or Treat as a safer alternative to going door to door during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it proved popular enough to become a new annual tradition, Levi Black Eagle, Crow Tribe Secretary said.

This year’s trunk or treat was set up on East Makawasha Avenue, by the park. The new centralized location made it easier for kids, particularly students from the nearby Crow Agency Public School, to participate in the event.

Trunk or Treating has become increasingly popular in the US over the years. Parents and communities cite it as a safer alternative to traditional door to door trick or treating, especially with concern over COVID-19.

“I think this will continue, I hope it does.” said Black Eagle.
